If you're not desperate or probably makes sense to see what happens with pricing after the 7 series is announced/releases next month. It IS cool to see excel using 24 threads to calculate formulas but as I can't use my home gaming Pc for the work stuff (have to use work laptop) it just makes me mad I'm stuck with 8 threads there heh. That said, they both play the same games. Streaming can utilize your gpu instead of cpu as well so tons more cores may not be necessary. I've had a couple non game tasks that utilized the extra cores and mhz of my 5900 which was cool, but as I tend to play games that are single core and older I keep secretly wanting a 5800x3d. "Better" may just mean less little stutters/smoother gameplay etc. Minimum frame rates can benefit from the x3d cache even if the max frame rate is about the same (or lower) than a 5900/5950īetter performance (generally) in single/low core count games especially older ones or games that aren't super well optimized (satisfactory, rimworld etc). Non x3d performance is more dependent on well tuned ram. If you already have ddr4 but haven't been able to get really low latencies or high speeds out of it, the X3Ds cache will minimize the differences between a good and great memory kit. Memory speeds and latency won't matter as much.
